[ WARNINGS ]: ROMCOMS. That might turn into HORROR MOVIES. Who knows.
[ NOTES ]: This post is totally open! I'm going to turn off comment notifications for this entry, so feel free to have your own threads independent from Karkat. You can find a description of the apartment in the apartment listings page.

He's going to be playing 100 Days With Mr Arrogant first, then My Girlfriend Is An Agent. Others can come up later in the thread. The movies will be interspersed by audio and clips from Ju-on: The Grudge every now and then.

Bring your own food since Karkat will get pissy if you eat his, but feel free to come and go through the night. The whole point is Karkat's ~~tsundere for leadership~~ way of trying to boost morale after the doll event, so you're all invited!

... Unless you're Vice or Visi, but you can show up too :>

[ Karkat can shout a million times at Shirou not to share the food.

But when it comes time to show the movies, Shirou will still be found putting out bowls of chips. ]

I know, popcorn is more appropriate, right? But every bag of it I opened turned out to be full of tiny knives instead...

[suddenly, Karkat.

He's standing beside you.

Suddenly Karkat.

Shows you he cares.]

I thought I told everyone else to bring their own food.

Why are you catering?

[Shirou knows it's just because he cares! That's why he just nods firmly instead of being upset.]

I'm not okay with hosting an event and not providing food.

So I went to the store to get stuff. It was hard when the lights went off and everything started rattling, but I did all right.

I got us some more rice, too. And it looks like half the eggs are good. The other half were cracked and dripping blood...

[He makes a face at that kind of waste.]

[He makes a face of disgust; yeah, he's been there with the eggs before.]

Well... you didn't have to. These idiots need to learn to pitch in! That's why I was going to supply any.

[That and some of the snacks are his, but of course he's got those safely stored away in his cards.]

But we're the hosts.

["We." Shirou has claimed this apartment as partially his by now; sorry, Karkat.]

Even if I disagree with your choice of movies...we're still the hosts. We should be providing food.

I'm the host. Me. This wasn't your idea.

[He puffs up like an aggressive kitten - but seems more possessive of the idea itself, rather than the idea that he shares an apartment with this guy now.]

You're the volunteer caterer.

I live here too. Maybe I'm not the only man of the house like I was at home...

[Actually, he's not sure about that. Is Karkat even really a "man" if his species's approach to romance and sexuality is so strange? Shirou puts that idea aside for now with a faint frown.]

But I still can't wash my hands of a gathering and say, "I'm not the host at all."

[Karkat throws his hands up in the air.] Fine, fine! But don't expect me to help you out with food and shit like that when you have people over.

That's okay. I don't even know if you can cook.

[So it's not like he's going to trust Karkat in the kitchen. In fact, he gives him a bit of a suspicious glance.]

What the - of course I can fucking cook!

[His scowl is pretty indignant this time, rather than just contrary.] My lusus had crab claws, how the shit was he meant to use the food preparation units?

That's right...

[And Shirou's expression relaxes a little. He even might smile a little.]

My dad didn't have crab claws, but I had to cook for him too a lot. We learned in the same way, huh?

What was his excuse? [But maybe he doesn't say it as gruffly as he's said the other things.]

[An uncharacteristically pensive look passes over Shirou's face.]

I think...he was probably sick.

[And then he forcefully tries to cheer up.]

But sometimes he was just kind of a lazy guy.

[ Ilya actually wasn't that interested in the whole deal. At first, either way. But she couldn't help but come to the apartment and at least peak in a little to see what was going on with everyone..

.. But then she sees Shirou and it changes. With the energy of a little kid, she basically leaps at him from behind, her arms clinging around his neck as she's against his back like that, giggling loudly. ]

Hehehehe! I got you, Shirouuuu..! [ But her tone and laughter makes it clear she's just playing a real kid game this time. ]

Ack...!

[ He teeters for a moment, but manages not to fall over, because that would mean losing his grip on the bowl of chips he's currently holding. ]

Ilya, you're here? No way...you're not old enough for these movies!

Hahahaha!

[ At least she seems genuinely happy. Probably because of the teetering. This is all pretty much a game to her. Which is why she still doesn't let go of him, maybe she even only clings tighter. ]

But Shirou's here, right? Then I can stay around too!

Uh...

[ There's no way he can say no when she sounds that happy. There's no way at all. ]

Yeah, I guess that's okay. I can cover your eyes if things get too mature for you. And your ears too.

.. Geez, I'm a lady, Shirou! [ She huffs a little, but it doesn't seem to be out of some genuine annoyance, maybe she's still playing. At least she lets go of him for now, patting down her skirt as she sits down next to him and looks at him. ]

I can handle something like this.

[ Too late...he's already nodding decisively as he straightens up now that she's off of him. ]

You're small enough that I could just put one hand over your eyes...but...

[ How would he cover her ears? Oh, wait, it'd be simple: just put one hand over one ear and hold her head against his shoulder so the other ear was covered. That'd require getting awfully close to her, but for the sake of preserving her innocence in the face of "romance scenes," it would be acceptable. ]

That's right, it'll work out fine. Oh, I should make sure there are enough seats. Are you comfortable, Ilya?

Uh-huh. I'm fine.

[ Although that extends to more than just her sitting position right now.. since he might not be letting up on the whole issue, but Ilya is just as stubborn. ]

I don't get what there's for me to not see though. That guy said it was about romantic movies or something like that, right? So.. then it's just about people falling in love. That's normal. [ Or supposed to be normal for most people, more like. ]

Oh, I guess you know about things like that, huh...

[ But that's a bit odd. How does someone as pure and sheltered as Ilya know about "falling in love"? Should he even ask?

No, he can't quite ask. ]

But you don't know about the things people do when they're in love, so I might have to put a hand over your eyes when those come up. Okay? Okay.

[ DARNIT SHIROU IT'S SINCE YOU HERSELF SHOWED HER!! But then again, it's not really his fault he doesn't realise since he's from earlier.. ]

Geez, then how am I ever supposed to learn? [ Although deep down she knows it'd be no use either way, despite having gotten a second chance at life, there's no way she'd live long enough for her to actually grow to a point where she could.. ]

[ '--parents will tell you,' he's about to say, but then he just looks at her and gets this weird uncomfortable feeling, like isn't that a very bad thing to say to Ilya of all people?

He looks kind of sad for a moment. ]

Um, I'll tell you someday. I think it should be my responsibility.

"Someday"?

[ She leans a little closer to him again as she asks him it, blinking at him. ]

When is that going to be then, Shirou?

I don't know exactly, but...it'll have to be when this Holy Grail War is finished, Ilya. I'm not going to let you die in it even if you are my enemy back home. I'll find a way to save everyone, so you can come visit my home and eat my cooking then.

[ And he smiles fearlessly. He knows he can do it. He has someone like Saber at his side, and besides, he has to. ]
