[ WARNINGS ]: ROMCOMS. That might turn into HORROR MOVIES. Who knows.

He's going to be playing 100 Days With Mr Arrogant first, then My Girlfriend Is An Agent. Others can come up later in the thread. The movies will be interspersed by audio and clips from Ju-on: The Grudge every now and then.

Bring your own food since Karkat will get pissy if you eat his, but feel free to come and go through the night. The whole point is Karkat's tsundere for leadership way of trying to boost morale after the doll event, so you're all invited!

... Unless you're Vice or Visi, but you can show up too :>

CLOSED — in which Yosuke convinces Kai to go to movie night

[ Not long after 6:00 PM, Kai emerges from the dusty basement of the apartments looking highly displeased. He’s irritated, having been disastrously unsuccessful in cleaning his beloved scarf; somehow, he managed to get more blood stains on it in his attempts to wash it. Now, he has little else planned than to return to his room for the remainder of the evening and avoid his roommate. He’s aware of the movie night, but sees no point in going to it. Romcoms? With a bunch of people he can barely tolerate? No thanks. ]

[Yosuke is on his way down there to collect some laundry he'd left in one of the dryers. It's to his surprise that he meets Kai coming up the stairs, and he gives the other boy a wave.]

Yo.

[He stops to talk to him.]

[ Every muscle in his limbs strains in anticipation as he listens to someone, or something, descend the stairs above him. When they meet on the first floor landing, the tension bleeds out of his body language. In its place, a shadow of some indiscernible emotion passes over his face, disappearing a heartbeat later. ]

Yosuke, [ he replies in lieu of a greeting. ] Where are you headed?

[ As he speaks, he winds his scarf around his neck, folding the cloth so that the bloodstains are hidden. ]

[He notices the flickering of emotion over Kai's face briefly, but even if it had lingered long enough for him to be sure it'd been there, he wouldn't have been able to identify it. The guy is pretty cagey.]

Uh, laundry room? I was cleaning my uniform... I kinda prefer wearing that than the stuff I got here, y'know? [It feels weird to justify it, but yeah.]

After that I was gonna head up to that kid's place for the movie night. Don't get me wrong, I hate romcoms but... I don't know. [A shrug.] Being around people sounds pretty good right now.

Don’t use the washer on the left.

[ Sagely advice given, he moves past Yosuke and takes a few steps up the stairs when he pauses. After a moment of hesitation, he glances back with an unreadable look. ]

Have fun when you go, [ he says, and there’s that serious quality to his tone that suggests that, for once, he isn’t being a sarcastic jerk. ]

[ .. Well, Peko certainly doesn't know much about these kind of movies, but that's why she came in the first place.. besides, she thinks it's important to maybe make everyone able to cooperate with each other better, which is necessary in a place like this. It's why she asked Fuyuhiko to come along too, so she can be seen talking to him often, but if you're lucky, you might find her alone before or after a movie to talk to. Or maybe even whisper something to her during the movie, even if she looks like she's.. rather caught up in the movies themselves, as if she's studying them intensely instead of just watching them.

She's totally more interested in all the Hello Kitty related things around the apartment though, so there's a high chance you can see her staring at those too.. there's a strange glint in her eyes as she's doing it, in fact.. ]

[Romcoms are boring and girly as heck, but being around a bunch of people sounded like a good idea right now. Especially since the kid hosting it was kind of majorly unintentionally hilarious. Watching him scowling at everyone who was eating and yelping at his roommate for putting out more food was kind of entertainment in itself for Yosuke.

And then he saw her - Peko. Alone. Looking a little intense. Did she like these movies?

Well, expect Yosuke to slide kind of close to her.]

Ah. .. Hanamura, good day. [ Of course she's as stiff as ever. At least she does turn to him, nodding her head a little as if in greeting. ]

I have to say I'm not entirely accustomed to these kind of movies, but.. .. they don't seem too bad. It's fairly interesting.

[ Even if she has no idea how romance works. ]

Oh yeah, they're great, huh? [He says, like he enjoys them at all.]

Have you seen many of them before?

[ .. Probably.. she guesses, at least. Yosuke seems more aware of a lot of social things to begin with.. ]

[And guess who decided to show back up right next to Peko's side. He feels super awkward just being here in the first place, let alone having himself interact with people? Oh no, something like that just didn't seem right for to him!! And even then, he didn't exactly want people to know that him and Peko were...erm, actually, scratch that, he just didn't want guys to hit on her in the first place. So he's on watch for that.

...but he found her staring at some Hello Kitty things. Which made him think for a moment...] ..hey, do you want something like that?

.. Ah.

[ She turns to him with wide eyes, still a little unsure about what to call him in public.. so she ends up just not addressing him by name after all, instead she just stares a little and tries to politely nod - not in response to his question though, since she looks a little unsure about that as well. ]

I-.. I was merely admiring it, that is all. They look like they would have such soft and fluffy fur..

[...that definitely wasn't admiring at all, and Kuzuryuu knows that for a fact. She definitely wants something like that, but...he wouldn't exactly know where in the world to actually get something similar to that. So, he let out a little sigh, looking around to see if there's anyone near them...]

...feh, I should've expected you liked something like this in the first place. [So he says, walking up and grabbing one of the dolls.] ...they are really soft, though...want to hold it?

Do you really think that would be alright..? [ Sure, it's not like Peko is easily scared or anything, but she's rigidly polite. It seems too much like intruding after entering someone else's apartment like this. ]

The guy who owns this rooms seems somewhat.. easily angered, perhaps. I would not want to ruin the good mood for everyone.

[ But even now, she's holding her breath just looking at it.. ;; ]

[Hey, it's Karkat! And he's staring at you staring at his decor.]

Who knows what hell those lifeless eyes have seen.

[ Is that the person who invited all of them there? Not like she can tell since she only spoke to him through text, but his skin certainly is the same color as the font he was using, so.. she figures. ]

Freaking me out? [ A blink, almost surprised, and then she glances back to the doll. ] .. No, that is actually not what I was thinking about it. If anything, it seems rather.. cute.

[He looks at the mouthless cat, then back to Peko. Then to Hello Kitty again.]

She looks hideous.

[ Karkat can shout a million times at Shirou not to share the food.

But when it comes time to show the movies, Shirou will still be found putting out bowls of chips. ]

I know, popcorn is more appropriate, right? But every bag of it I opened turned out to be full of tiny knives instead...

[suddenly, Karkat.

He's standing beside you.

Suddenly Karkat.

Shows you he cares.]

I thought I told everyone else to bring their own food.

Why are you catering?

[Shirou knows it's just because he cares! That's why he just nods firmly instead of being upset.]

I'm not okay with hosting an event and not providing food.

So I went to the store to get stuff. It was hard when the lights went off and everything started rattling, but I did all right.

I got us some more rice, too. And it looks like half the eggs are good. The other half were cracked and dripping blood...

[He makes a face at that kind of waste.]

[He makes a face of disgust; yeah, he's been there with the eggs before.]

Well... you didn't have to. These idiots need to learn to pitch in! That's why I was going to supply any.

[That and some of the snacks are his, but of course he's got those safely stored away in his cards.]

[ Ilya actually wasn't that interested in the whole deal. At first, either way. But she couldn't help but come to the apartment and at least peak in a little to see what was going on with everyone..

.. But then she sees Shirou and it changes. With the energy of a little kid, she basically leaps at him from behind, her arms clinging around his neck as she's against his back like that, giggling loudly. ]

Hehehehe! I got you, Shirouuuu..! [ But her tone and laughter makes it clear she's just playing a real kid game this time. ]

Ack...!

[ He teeters for a moment, but manages not to fall over, because that would mean losing his grip on the bowl of chips he's currently holding. ]

Ilya, you're here? No way...you're not old enough for these movies!

Hahahaha!

[ At least she seems genuinely happy. Probably because of the teetering. This is all pretty much a game to her. Which is why she still doesn't let go of him, maybe she even only clings tighter. ]

But Shirou's here, right? Then I can stay around too!

[Being excluded from the gathering only made Visi more determined to go.

Halfway through the first movie, she slithers under the door in her puddle form. From there, she creeps under the couch and stays there, at least for now. The legs she can see are tantalizing, but she has no intention of taking them. Needing to leg it with so many people chasing her wouldn't be desirable.

From time to time, when she thinks no one is looking, she'll flow out from the couch and have a nosy around the other rooms.]
