[ Peko doesn't trust anything. A n y t h i n g. She's extremely on guard and only lingers in the area with the food stalls (or anywhere where a certain mafia midget is) since they look relatively the safest, especially since she recognizes the fox stall. She isn't approaching any of them though, she's just standing there..

.. But since she's so on guard she's also easily started. Don't be surprised if you suddenly find a sword pointed at you if you suddenly approach her, it's not meant personally. ]

I'd recommend the kitsune udon, it's actually rather good.

[Mika can tell when another predator is on guard, and stays well outside of the reach of Peko's shinai when she addresses her. Leaning on her cane, her ears flick forward as she gestures towards the stall in question.]

The lady kitsune is rather personable, and I didn't find anything too off when I ate there last. Not sure if she's still taking her payments in "shinies" though.

[ She narrows her eyes for a moment as Mika talks, but she recognizes the voice. It's why - still after a moment of contemplation though - she puts the sword back in the sheath for the time being, bowing her head a little as if she's apologizing for her sudden defense before replying. ]

Ah, I was looking at that stall as well. They were near the apartments before, that is why I thought they seemed more trustworthy than anything else in this place. [ Because.. well, come on, it all looks shady as hell. ]

[Mika hardly seems offended, her smile bland in an attempt to look as nonthreatening as possible, even managing to wag her tail a little. There might have even been a faint look of approval for Peko's defensive behaviour; after all, in a place like this that kind of thing was well warranted. Mika simply nods, and points the swordswoman in the right direction.]

That's why I'm planning on eating there as well, I had a surprisingly pleasant experience there the last time. Auntie's stall is just over there, you can't miss it.

[Because in a place this shady you have to know where the bright spots were, and that udon shop was really quite nice as long as you could withstand the teasing.]

... "Auntie"? [ She blinks a little bit. Peko's so overly formal about everything that she doesn't get being that informal with people as easily.. and she ends up peering over her shoulder at the stall for a moment before looking back to Mika. ]

Do you know them that well?

No, I don't.

[Mika looks back to Peko, her expression is rather serious.]

But would you want to sound rude to a kitsune when they're on home soil and you're not? Politeness goes over well with her, and I couldn't think of anything else to call her that might not've come across as rude when I first went to her shop.

[ She dips her head a little, thinking, but in the end she can't help but agree in a way. ]

I wouldn't exactly have worded it like that myself, but I see your point. I only cut people who deserve it, after all, and that counts for both swordfighting and words.

[Ah... well, of course he'd run into her again. It's actually kinda funny how he's not seen her for so long. Then again, he hasn't really left his apartment except on supply runs, he guesses.

He feels a little less stung by her rejection (and her boyfriend's violent exception) a this point, and so he decides to go up and greet her.]

Hanamura.

[ Her sword is already at his throat before she recognizes him like that. The moment she feels someone approaching she spins around, grabbing her sword from its case in one smooth motion and swinging it at him - although not entirely on the offense since she stops before she'd actually hurt him. But that's when the recognition kicks in and she slowly lowers the sword at least. Whoops. ]

[WOW. Uh, okay! Obviously she hadn't forgiven him! He takes a few steps back, hands upraised.]

Jeez! Sorry!

Forgive me, I did not see it was you.

[ Now she's sure it isn't any kind of danger, she puts the sword back in its case, bowing a little in Yosuke's direction. ]

I thought one of the less benevolent residents of this place [ aka one of the monsters or ghosts ] snuck up on me. [ Apparently it's not for the reason he thinks it is at all.. it mostly just left her confused. ]

So... wait. You're not mad at me?

... [ Bl.. ink... being mad over what happened doesn't even occur to her, so she's mostly just surprised. ]

Why would I be mad at you?

You know... [He rubs the back of his neck.] For asking you out...

[ Despite her usual frigid exterior, she definitely looks a little more awkward at hearing that. The memory of that moment is still weird, even if it went by quickly because of a certain gangster midget. ]

... No, there is no way I could be mad at you for it. I was rather.. flattered, actually. [ To put it lightly. Very lightly. ] I can't exactly say anyone had expressed such interest in me before-- well, aside from the young master, but that is.. different.

[He'd rather not talk about 'the young master'.]

[She'd been... flattered? Maybe if that guy hadn't been around they might have... nah, it's not worth thinking of it like that.]

Not yet. [It's easier to focus on this than on the other stuff, so he gladly latches onto the topic.] Not gonna lie... I'm kinda hungry. I was gonna see if anything was good here.

I spotted the stall that was near the apartments before too. [ She motions with one arm in the direction of the fox's stall. ] Have you eaten there as well back then? They seem like the safest option compared to the more shady other options here.

[Eddie doesn't take the sword to the face very personally.] Seen anythin' that looks remotely safe to eat round here? Or should we just assume everythin' is poisoned?

[ .. Ah, that voice. She recognizes it from before, so that's why - after another cautionary look - she lowers the sword, although she's still holding it in her hand just in case. ]

I would say it's fair to assume the latter. The only stall I would trust is the one run by the foxes, but everything else doesn't seem trustworthy in the slightest from what I have seen.

[Even with the recognition that filters across her face, Eddie still isn't about to test her on the issue. He keeps his hands away from his axe and body language relaxed, well as it can be.]

Best to stick to the foxes stall then, I sure as shit wouldn't get experimental round here. I'd rather not somehow puke up my organs or some crazy shit.

I think it would be more efficient to try and get back into the apartments. [ After all, Peko is pretty sure that anything around here is going to give them a hard time.. ] Have you already attempted to do so?
