when there's something strange in the neighbourhood

[ WHO ]: Everyone who replied to the IC plotting post! Feel free to jump in if you talk it over with the group you're hoping to join, though!
[ WHERE ]: First off all over the apartments, then to the grocery store!
[ WHEN ]: From noon on March 5th!
[ OPEN/CLOSED? ]: OPEN!
[ RATING ]: PG (for now, will edit if anything big shows up)
[ WARNINGS ]: Some ghosts will be present, so violence or disturbing imagery may crop up!
[ NOTES ]: I will be posting to the body of the entry with the pairs of people and a link to the two sub comments for people to jump into! Please click it cut for more info.


In the apartments, the pairs will be:

Tian (nurturing) and Kai (blitzkrieging) - taking the first and second floor
Mika (wolfishsurvivalist) and Yosuke (andallforone) - taking the third and fourth floor
Peko (tooled) and Karkat (carcinogenetics) and Naoki (demonish) - fifth and sixth floor
Once-ler (triggeringbiggering) and Garry (fraternal) - seventh and eighth floor!

As Naoki is on hiatus due to internet problems, Karkat and Peko should wait near the stairwell of the fifth floor before heading off. Naoki can catch up ICly when the hiatus ends, if they're still up for being a part of the log! :)

In the grocery store, anyone who wants to come along should just jump into the thread. No structure, though posting orders may be arranged. ICly, this will come after the thread in the apartments.

The group will be using the Once-ler's apartment (301) is the base for the operations. Characters will meet in there (having been told in the IC planning post) and can return here if chased. The walls of this apartment are lined with old strips of red tape. They work fine so long as they aren't touched, which will cause them to just flake off.

T-tell me about it. [It wasn't aimed at him so he didn't get the full effect of the terror, but it was frightening to see nonetheless. He inches closer and puts his hand on Garry's shoulder, huffing out a small sigh.]

Are you okay?

[No sooner does he ask it when he hears a sound coming from the direction of the bathroom. Tap tap. Tap tap.

No.

Tek tek.

His face goes pale.]

Run!

[fraternal]

[ if he heard Once-ler's warning he doesn't even make a move to rise, jut turning to look up at him, a little disoriented. ]

H-Huh?...

[triggeringbiggering]

[Once-ler grabs Garry under his arms and hauls him to his feet.] Come on!

[Tek tek. Tek tek. And he knows when they go into the main room it'll change to Teketeketeketeke....

He hooks Garry's arm over his shoulders.]

[fraternal]

[ he lets himself be hauled up - he's fit, but he is pretty thin, so it isn't too much of a difficult task, and he gets up pretty easily once he's led to. he can hear the pattering against the floor but it doesn't quite register, he can just hear the roaring in his ears of blood and his heart going a mile a minute. mutely he registers somehow that he needs to work his legs- follow Once-ler.

his own body is cold, and he shivers against the man holding him up. left foot, right foot, even if he isn't registering anything about this situation, at least his legs are. ]

[triggeringbiggering]

[Steeling himself again what he knows is going to come, Once-ler shoulders open the door and makes a sprint for the door of the apartment. He doesn't even spare the rest of the place a glance; in the periphery of his vision he can see the crawling figure draw out a scythe and start to scuttle towards them. Teketeketeketeke -

He hauls Garry over one of the overturned chairs, endevouring to reach that door before it catches up. Garry is closest to the door handle (and also isn't using his hands to support someone else) and Once-ler gives him a shake as they reach it.]

Open the door!

[fraternal]

[ open the door.

open the door.

he's reminded of something- a time far scarier than right now. being chased by portraits and mannequins and heads and-

Garry reaches out a shaking hand, and he's the one tugging Once-ler out of the room now, grabbing for his wrist and getting his upper arm, he tries to slam the door shut behind them with one hand, before letting go of him and using both to slam it closed. ]

[triggeringbiggering]

[Once out in the corridor, Once-ler huffs out a huge sigh of relief. It's turned into a yelp of terror at the door is slammed into and the knob rattled. He lets go of Garry and grabs his tape, rapidly using it to seal the cracks along the edges. The door doesn't stop rattling all while he does it.

When it eventually stops, he sighs again, then turns to Garry.]

... next one, then...?

[He sounds like he might not mind that not being the case.]
